17th February 2022, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Center for International Agricultural Development (CIAD) of Institutes of Green Bio Science and Technology(GBST) of Seoul National University(SNU) held a Kick-Off meeting online to cooperate on One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) system, which is one of the current Global Action Plans on Green Development of Special Agricultural Products in FAO.
OCOP aligns with the vision of FAO strategic framework 2022-2031, focusing on "Four Betters" - better production, better nutrition, better environment, and better life. In order to the sustainable development of Green Agriculture – ensuring food security, improving human welfare, and providing decent work for all, without depleting natural resources, while maintaining the healthy Earth's ecosystems, FAO closely cooperates with their member countries to develop crops that have a comparative advantage in the global market.
